My new Chinese friend told me some good websites of young photographers of his country. I enjoyed them, and frankly speaking, I felt some contemporaries. The web I introduced today is one of them.

Miu Kiuchi

mius - Miu Kiuchi

Now Miu Kiuchi has the exhibition in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Yesterday I visited and her works were very nice. Her way to peel the meenings from the scenes is thoroughgoing. She may use a digital camera, and when I glanced at the prints, I could find its digital dots. That's interesting for me, because I felt some reality of photography from dots, not like painting. It was also good that I didn't find extra-nervous mind from them. Felt some free mind. If you live in Tokyo, I recomend to drop in it. It'll go till 28th June.

Skype Chat in Ukrainian

This topic isn't connected with photography.

I'm a heavy user of MSN messenger and Skype to talk with my models. My idea is that the more we talk, the closer our relation turn on photos. So I often meet models, in addition we chat much online.

So skype and messenger is always logined on my macintosh. Then sometimes I encount a stranger. Today I chatted with an Ukrainian girl in her language. I can understand Ukrainian language because I had studied it for 2 years in my university days.

We can get quite a nice chance from internet. We can chat, and we can show our own works each other. Recently, I'm strongly feeling the world changing...

Safari for PC

I was surprised just now that apple started to suply the browser "safari" for windows, too.

Safari 3 Public Beta. Now on Windows, too.

By the way, as the track system, there are about 30% of visitors who use Macintosh now. Recently, the number is increasing. I've used Mac for long. The percentage was 10% 7years ago, I heard...

"What You See & What You Don't"

the exhibition "What You See & What You Don't"

Today I went to Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music to see the photography exhibition "What You See & What You Don't". The university is the supreme one about art study in Japan, and in the exhibition 19 photographers display their works. Some are famous, and some are young and expected. There some good works let me come up with views I haven't never seen, but on the whole I felt something grave from most of their works and got tired. If you live in Tokyo and would like to see the exhibition, check the access at the below website. It's going until 17th June. Or, if you don't, you can see some works of them on the above link.

The Third Stage's drama "Trance" in London

6-30 June 2007: The world premiere of an English Language version of TRANCE , directed by Kokami, at the Bush Theatre, London.

The Third Stage

My favourite drama producer Kokami's work started in London. If you live near there, don't miss it.

A new 35mm film 'Parade100' launched out.

Tokyo Gratzy

A small company struggled to produce a new 35mm film against recent trend toward digital photography, and finally it succeeded. Today I ordered 20 rolls and will try them for a while.

My Little Dead Dick

A kind man told me that the photos I posted a few days ago was from My Little Dead Dick. There two Chinese young photographers take each other, sometimes frisking, sometimes making love, and the result was outstanding. Especially, their daily photos on Flickr were so awesome.

By the way, when I visited Shanghai on last March, I dropped at a bookstore and there I found an art photo book. In the book there were over 50 Chinese contemporary photographers, and some of them were so unique. Since then, I've been interested in Chinese young photographers, but I don't have much information yet. Who knows? Some have websites?

Lomography

Recently, I think better of lomography, its mentality although I've never used a lomo camera. It means, just taking snaps, not thinking enough, depending on nature, believing our own senses. It is an important view even if we don't have lomo cameras. Photography can be interesting when it gets a CHANCE, or something like coincidence or accident. Of course, technique is effective all time, but at the same time we shouldn't forget some humour as lomographers always do.
